Is this a story I can read to my nine year old daughter, or is it a book for adults?
That would depend on your daughter. There's a battle in it, for instance, in which people died, though I do not get up close to the deaths.
It's clean. The prince is even embarrassed to kiss the sleeping princess in hopes of breaking the curse. (Which is, I note, historically accurate.)
Certainly teens are fine.
We've read the first three Narnia books, so that sounds OK.
